New Young Professionals Organization (YPO) Holds Inaugural Meeting T he current Chairman of the Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Jeff O'Neill, came to Schuylkill County almost three decades ago . . . to a new job, new people and with a desire to make a difference for his new community. He is now recognized as a regional leader for M&T Bank and believes he is a perfect example of the great things that can happen to young professionals in our community when they work together and grow. A stra- tegic initiative for Jeff's year as Board Chair is the development and nurturing of a Young Professionals Organi- zation (YPO). In response to Organization (YPO). The Young Profes- sionals Organization is for business minded professionals in their 20’s and 30’s. YPO’s mission is to provide young professionals in Schuylkill County a platform with which to network while emphasizing opportunities for professional development and economic growth, civic outreach and the establishment of a jointed social voice. The Schuylkill Chamber’s ultimate vision for YPO is to use this mechanism to raise the bar in the development, men- toring and support for future leaders in our county, while enhancing their ability to live, work and play within Schuylkill County by making measurable impacts regarding their professional and personal lives. The Schuylkill Chamber has asked Savas Logothetides, owner of Wheel Restaurant and The Crimson House , to serve as the initial Chairman of the YPO Committee, which has been formed to develop the Young Profession- als Organization. We desire this "working" group to be inclusive and open to all young professionals. The group is currently meeting to lay the groundwork for the new organization and will be developing by-laws and defining themselves as an organization as well as their mission and vision for the future.
