Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce Celebrates 100 Years T urning 100 years old is a milestone worth celebrating and that is exactly what your Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce is planning to do in 2018. “There will be something for everyone,” said Executive Vice President Monica Walborn. “Three committees, the Gener- al Planning, Gala and History, have been working hard for

nearly two years to plan for this extra special year.” Wal- born explained that the committees are made up of mem- bers who volunteer their time. “Our members bring so

much creativity and expertise to the ta- ble,” she said. “We couldn’t do it without them.”

The Schuylkill Chamber was established in 1918 as the Pottsville Chamber with 87 members. The name was later changed to the Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce to serve all of Schuylkill County and the surrounding area. For 100 years the Chamber has pro- vided services, programs, committees and networking opportunities to help businesses The Pottsville Chamber of Commerce was established in 1918 with John G.
